Abstract

Objective: To analyze the incidence and existing problems of pneumoconiosis among workers in yibin city from 1948 to 2012. Methods: The cases of pneumoconiosis diagnosed and reported from 1948 to 2012 in yibin city were counted. Results coal worker's pneumoconiosis had the largest proportion (78.67%), followed by silicosis (20.99%) with 313 cases. The survey found only four cases of pneumoconiosis, including coal worker's pneumoconiosis, silicosis, cement worker's pneumoconiosis and cast worker's pneumoconiosis. Conclusion: although the control of pneumoconiosis in yibin city has achieved some results, we still need to face the challenge of eliminating occupational diseases and preventing pneumoconiosis in workers, and we should focus on guiding and supervising and strengthening the supervision of major enterprises and relevant departments.
